We are formary

formary is a digital procurement platform for deep-drawn parts based in Backnang near Stuttgart. We combine expertise in plastic deep drawing with digitalization know-how. Our goal is to reduce the effort required by customers and suppliers through smart, fast, and effective processing from inquiry to delivery. As a contractual partner to our customers, we develop customized projects that are manufactured with precision by our specialized network of suppliers.

formary provides a platform that offers the infrastructure needed to simplify the entire procurement process for deep-drawn parts on both the customer and manufacturer side. On the customer side, the focus is on simplifying opaque and tedious purchasing processes from inquiry to delivery and making them error-free.

We achieve this through digital product configuration, fast quotation processes, and a product portfolio that can handle all inquiries. This gives customers access to the manufacturing capacities and machinery of the entire formary network. Our partner suppliers receive orders without any sales or marketing effort and can optimize their production capacity utilization at the same time.

Where we come from

From decades of thermoforming expertise to a digital industrial start-up. Innovation meets down-to-earth values.

The idea for formary was conceived by founders Lisa-Marie Bittner and Moritz Bittner in 2018, shortly after they joined their family business. Here, they encountered deep expertise in thermoforming, but quickly recognized the weaknesses of manual procurement processes. After long-standing partner companies were also convinced and the first version of the platform was developed, formary went online in September 2021.

Since then, the team has grown to ~30 colleagues who work every day toward one goal: revolutionizing the procurement of thermoformed parts.

formary assigns a specialized supplier from our network to each request. Relevant factors in supplier matching include machinery, post-processing options, certifications, capacities, and expertise.

Data creation

Deep drawing experts design the specific deep-drawn part according to design for manufacturing criteria and individual customer requirements.

Project support

The formary Operations Team proactively supports all project stages—from data creation and prototyping to series production—and ensures that customers can concentrate on their core business.
